Homebuilders’ saws are singing again in Orlando.
Central Florida’s economic bellwether — the housing market — is back in action, as we told you in the Feb. 15-21 print edition of Orlando Business Journal.
Along with that, the existing home sales market also is performing strongly, as values were up 18.5 percent year-over-year last month, and the Orlando area has a less than four-month supply of homes available for sale through the local multiple listing service.
Nationwide, home prices rose to a two-year high in December and foreclosure prices are at a 10-year low — though metro Orlando still is one of the hardest-hit markets in the nation — and the housing recovery isn’t just a blip on the screen, showed this Residential Price Index report by Oxford, Miss.-based data firm FNC Inc.
